Ephesians 3:16-17a, “I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.”
Morning Prayer:
“Holy Spirit, transform me from the inside out.”
Reflection:
In this prayer, Paul prayed that his readers would experience empowering and transformation in their “inner being.” We need to focus on “our hearts” first, not on our behavior or outer appearance. Paul is concerned about behaviour, but he knows that good behavior begins in the heart and then spills over into our lives. Again and again, the Scriptures teach this reality that God transforms us from the inside out, and not the other way around. How are you nurturing a relationship with the Holy Spirit?

Personalize Paul’s prayer: It is out of God’s glorious riches that he wants to strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your heart through faith. Are you yielding your inner being to the Holy Spirit? Is there something in your heart that needs attention? Invite God to explore areas of your life that need renewal or renovation. Listen to the Holy Spirit and let him guide you into those areas. Let God speak.
